About the Event
An accredited course aimed at anyone who working with traditional buildings. Using a combination of theory sessions, case studies and practical experiences, students will look at how and why traditional buildings should be maintained.
Course Content
- Aging properties
- Understanding solid walled construction
- Traditional materials vs modern materials
- Regulations relating to listed properties
- PAS2035 - How this relates to older properties
- Increasing energy efficiency in older properites - insulation methods and materials
- Practical: Mixing a variety of lime plasters, application techniques, assessing older properites
Course Timings
The course will run over 2 days between 9am and 5pm. At the end of day 2, students will take a formal assessment consisting of 30 multiply choice questions where 23 are required to pass.
Included in the Cost
All students will be provided with a printed copy of the course handbook which details everything required to pass the exam. On completion students will have the option of joining the carringtonLIME Student Forum in which they can gain ongoing support in their careers.
Costs
Thanks to funding by the Government, we are able to offer this course at just £130 (normal cost £325). To be eligible for a funded place, students need to live in England and be either currently working in the retrofit industry, or intending to start a career in retrofit.
