PROFESSIONAL COURSES
UPSKILL WITH LIME
Gain hands on experience of how to use lime on your clients properties. We have a range of courses on offer, all of which include theory sessions so you can be confident talking to clients about lime.
Unlike other lime courses in the UK, ours are predominantly practical. There is no watching demonstrations and 'having a go' if you like. Our aim to ensure that you leave the course with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to take on lime work.
If looking for plastering skills, we recommend everyone attend Part 1 (even if you are a time served plasterer) as this is where we teach the bulk of the skills. You will learn how to choose the correct materials, the theory behind 'breathability' and perhaps most importantly, gain hands on experience of mixing and applying mortar.
Our Part 2 and Advanced courses (Hot lime, Insulating Methods, Clay Plastering, Rendering) are the natural progression from the Part 1 plastering course.

Our tutor Ben is a Master Plasterer with over 25 years experience of working in the restoration of period properties. In 2023 he was awarded Mentor of the Year at the FIS Training Awards and joined the SPAB Technical committee. His knowledge is up to date and experience is varied.

All of our courses, with the exception of the knowledge share sessions, are mostly practical. We believe that you can only understand how to use lime, by actually using it.
