The Return of the Arts and Crafts Movement

In the late 19th Century, William Morris was instrumental in forming the Arts and Crafts movement in which traditional building crafts and the use of local materials were made popular. Creative freedom and experimentation with form, materials and colour was encourage.

In 2013 Kate and I founded CarringtonLIME. The aim of CarringtonLIME is to promote the use of traditional building methods and materials in a modern and creative way. We want to be involved in the continuation and encouragement of the ethos of the arts and crafts movement in which builders were referred to a crafts people. They were artists, with creative visions.
